unsere siebte ausgabe dreht sich um das thema: music(a)

in dieser volume möchten wir die universelle sprache der musik in den vordergrund stellen. ist es der ton, der die emotion auslöst und der text, der sie nur verstärkt? oder erinnert ein bestimmter songtext an dein erstes konzert, deinen ersten heartbreak? welche worte haben sich eingebrannt und warum? erzähl uns über freunde, die lyrics nie beherrschen oder seit ’98 tupac zitieren.

was ist es, dass musik mit uns macht?
music kann ein politisches statement werden. wir erinnern uns an „miss sarajevo“ von pavarotti, u2 und eno in der zeit der belagerung von sarajevo. „we are the world“, usa for afrika, von vierzig der bekanntesten musiker aus dem jahre ’85. eine hymne für den weltfrieden, um spenden für die opfer der hungersnot in äthiopien zu sammeln. oder wusstest du, dass bruce springsteen „born in the usa“ als kritik geschrieben wurde, um auf die schlechten bedingungen der veteranen aufmerksam zu machen? an chris brown, r.kelly und jüngst p.diddy, können wir die kunst von euch noch trennen oder ist die fiesta für immer vorbei? welche top-hits gilt es zu kritisieren, für rassistische, sexistische, diskriminierende inhalte? wie gefährlich ist es, dass eine melodie für fremdenfeindliche parolen genutzt wird und somit partytauglich wird?

schreibst du uns einen eigenen songtext? oder schreibst einen um? sende uns text oder illustrationen, fotos und alles andere druckbare zum thema dieser volume bis zum 01. august. erschaffst du dir den zugang zu unserem gehör, ohne dass wir dich hören? deiner fantasie sind keine grenzen gesetzt – wir freuen uns auf die nächste ausgabe!

our seventh issue revolves around the topic: music(a)

in this volume, we want to focus on the universal language of music. is it the sound that triggers the emotion and the lyrics that only amplify it? do certain lyrics remind you of your first concert, your first heartbreak? which words have been etched into your mind and why? tell us about friends who have never mastered lyrics or who have been quoting tupac since '98.

what is it that music does to us?
music can become a political statement. we remember “miss sarajevo” by pavarotti, u2, and eno during the siege of sarajevo. “we are the world”, usa for africa, by forty of the most famous musicians in '85. an anthem for world peace to raise funds for the victims of the famine in ethiopia. or did you know that bruce springsteen’s “born in the usa” was written as a criticism to draw attention to the poor conditions of veterans? we think about chris brown, r.kelly and most recently p.diddy: can we still separate the art from artist or is the fiesta over forever? which top hits should be criticized for their racist, sexist, discriminatory contents? how dangerous is it that a melody is used for xenophobic slogans and thus becomes suitable for a party?

will you write us your own lyrics? or rewrite one? submit your lyrics or illustrations, photos, and anything else printable on this volume’s topic until the 1st of august. will you make yourself heard without us hearing actually you? there are no limits to your imagination - we look forward to the next issue!
